Bottle. Beer of the month club. Dark brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma of somewhat roasty and toasty malt with nuts, suagr, a bit of acidic malt and hints of chocolate. Rather sweet malty flavor with nuts, sugar, some toasted bread and caramel. Finishes drier with a bit of bitterness and light acidic notes. Medium-bodied. Kinda OK, a bit too sugary.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a brownish copper with a small head. Good lacing. Nutty and roasty malt aroma. Taste is nuts, caramel malts and a fruity finish. Thin bodied.

Bottle at home. Pours cloudy and particulate brown with a huge, frothy light beige head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is nutty, light chocolate, toasty and bready malt, dates, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is medium hops and moderate bitterness, sweet chocolate, toasty, nutty, and bready malt with light date notes and a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. This is a bit over-carbonated.

The aroma consists of roasted malt and slight hops. Light body with flavors of chocolate, sweet malt and a touch of hops. The finish is short with a grainy malt aftertaste. Barely average overall.

Bottle. Pours a clear ruby tinged brown. Toast, a bit of nutty malt on the nose with some touches of roasting coffee. Medium bodied, smooth and sweet with a nice amount of malt to it. Nice mouthfeel, creamy and soft. Finishes up with some nutty malt and a nice toasty bitterness.
