American Brown Ale
A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs.

durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 5, 2011
Bottle from Sam’s in Durham. Pours chestnut, clear, with an impressive beige head. Nice lacing. Nose shows malts of nuts and mild chocolate. Metallic interference. Taste hits malt notes but without the metal. Light palate. Simple but lessened by the weird nose.

12 oz bottle courtesy of secret santa. Thanks. Pours a murky dark brown color with a small khaki head that soon recedes to film. The aroma is weak and indistinct with barley and some minor chocolate. The flavor is sweet grains and a touch of chocolate. The palate is medium with soft carbonation. Finishes short with a slight metallic aftertaste. Overall: Middle of the road brown ale, they need to punch this up a bit.
