Bottle. Toted as an IPA - this is much closer to a weak imperial stout. Smells like chocolate and hops, touch of grapefruit and grass. Taste is rich and smooth, very fresh hoppy tasting. Really easy to drink, pretty complex. Decent beer actually; I was debating buying it @ $9 a bomber, but its worth it to help "local" guys. I would buy it again if it was in six packs.

Pours a nice amber brown color with almost no head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, caramel, floral, and some spice. Flavor is caramel, some roast, chocolate, and a bitter spicy finish.

Black IPAs are fun. This one was not really aggressive on the hoppage was more like a slightly hoppy porter. I think these things fare better with an american hop profile....but thats just me.

Poured opaque black with a nice one finger tan head and ok lace. Aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Flavors are similar, with just a touch of baking chocolate bitterness and dark fruit. Medium body and carbonation, slightly thin mouthfeel, and a finish that highlighted by the roasted malts.

Very interesting dark IPA, not too much aromatic hops but huge on the dry sid, giving it a clear medicinal not. Head and lacing were not all that much, cola colored

Wax dipped bottle from Busters in Memphis, TN. Pours a deep ruby brown with a foamy tan head. Smells like and drinks like an imperial stout that has been hopped up. Nice beer, even if it wasnt what I expect in a Black IPA. Malt dominates aroma and flavor, with a nice hop bitterness.
