Heady pour, cloudy orange, few yeast chunks. Frothy lace. Nice aroma, pretty fruity, kind of estery, kinda belgiany in a overcarbed fruity estery way. Taste is belgiany,fruity,semi-rich,overcarbed,fairly tastey. For a pumpkin ale, I like it more than average. Iphonephan (6985) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2013
On draft at lost dog cafe in McLean VA. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Aroma of pumpkin pie spice. Light pumpkin flavors with some smooth caramel malt. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. Smooth, slightly bitter finish. sonnycheeba (5988) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Tap at dodge city. Pours clear amber with creamy white head. Aroma is bread and cereal malts, pumpkin, nutmeg, floral notes, and faint toast. Flavor is dry malt base, some pumpkin esters, light hop bitterness, and some toast; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. snoworsummer (5694) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Draft. Pours almost clear copper with a thin white head. Tastes like gourds, pumpkin, light spice, malt, bread. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like vegetables and wheat. Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2013
Very nice mouthfeel, bubbly and light. Slightly sour, which I liked, this would go well with an oily meal. The aroma was ordinary for a pumpkin ale, nothing really stood out. For the style, this was over wet hopped, the bitterness overrode the sweet pumpkin esters and flavors to a certain degree. Not much pumpkin spice. There was a light, but still off putting flavor of metal or aluminum foil on the end; that kind of ruined this beer. If this was not a pumpkin ale and the metal flavor was removed, it would probably be very good, but for the style, it is sub par. After airing out for about 20-30 minutes, it develops a custard flavor, making it a little better.

Gah... should have trusted the reviews. Great head and body, but overly hopped for a pumpkin beer. Overpowering metal flavor. obguthr (6344) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Cider vinegar, tomatoes, persimmon nose. Cloudy amber, thin head. Harsh mouthfeel. Dry, vinegar and nutmeg flavor. Everything I dislike about pumpkin beers in one bottle. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - NOV 11, 2013
A clear orange amber body with a white head That had decent retention and nice lace. Aroma had some nice pumpkin pie spice notes but was dominated by a strong pumpkin note that at times seemed bitter. Flavor seemed more balanced. The spice note was more apparent and the pumpkin had a a slight bitterness but not enough to affect the beer. Smooth finish and nice mouth-feel.

Albany, Ga - Warehouse Package Store - 12 oz bottle. Slightly hazy medium orange pour with a medium thick eggshell white head that sticks around a while. Aroma has is kind of ordinary, only picking up some ripening vegetable notes. Flavor has some ripening vegetable notes, just a hint of pumpkin spices. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Serviceable - nice change of pace from the over-spiced pumpkin ales out there. beerpro00 (1) - North Carolina, USA - NOV 1, 2013 does not count
"Gruntled" Pumpkin ale by RJ Rockers. Better name for the beer could be "backwash". Easily the worst tasting "Pumpkin" beer I’ve tasted. There is zero pumpkin flavor to the beer. Has almost no aroma and honestly tastes like a nasty flavored water. Absolutely would not recommend this to anyone. Try instead Southern Tier "Pumking: beer. The most flavorful and full bodied Pumpkin seasonal beer.
