Picked up a growler and served in a shaker pint. Dark brown with reddish highlight and a nice lasting khaki head and good lacing. Looks great. Chocolate and coffee nose. Medium body and very smooth. Some sticky sweetness stays on the lips. Milk chocolate, caramel/toffee and black cherry/fig flavors balanced with some coffee bitterness in the finish. Excellent brew and I’m glad to see Rockers trying some new things. Hoping they offer this one again.
On draft at Smoke and Barrel in D.C.
The beer is black with an inch of thick, creamy foam. The aroma brings a big dose of chocolate and oatmeal. The coffee is an aspect of the beer, and while present, does not dominate the flavor, as seems to be the trend with other bees of this ilk. Medium bodied with some lingering dark chocolate and charred roast. I would write more but it’s my turn to hold the baby. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 21, 2013
Tap at Smoke & Barrel. Darker near black pour. Latte foam. Good lace. Nose is muddled, dusty cocoa powder and lemon. Taste is lemon coffee acid, sharp wood, tobacco, and spice. Dry, dusty, sharply bitter in the finish. Heavy coffee grind forward with some gritty harshness. Not the best coffee beer, but very drinkable. geologyguy (1686) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - OCT 31, 2012

Had this one at the debut of it at the brewery as I couldn’t make it to the store’s debut! Glad to see more of the stores in this area collaborating with some of the breweries here! Served from tap into an RJ Rockers shaker. Poured pitch black with a half finger brown head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, coffee, and oatmeal. The flavor was of sweet malt, coffee, roasted malt, cream, oatmeal, subtle dark fruit, and smoke (upon warming). It had a heavy feel on the palate with mild carbonation (almost creamy in texture). Overall this was a pretty good brew. I really like how they were able to incorporate the coffee into the oatmeal stout on this one while not overpowering the oatmeal which can be easy to do. The ABV on this one is nowhere to be found, so take this as a warning if you just cracked open a 64 oz growler of this. The nose on this was nice and bold, but not overpowering in any way. Definitely a well done brew that I’m glad I got the chance to try and will get to many more times in the future. I suggest you try to do the same. Tick.
