Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 2013, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.
Clear medium to dark amber color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, malt extract, burnt brown sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, burnt brown sugar, malt extract. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 Cask at the Salisbury Arms, Cambridge. Pours clear amber-red with a tight, lasting beige cream head. Toasty-bready malt nose, some ripe berries, plums, faint caramel. Light sweet flavor with dry, toasted brown bread, some semi-ripe berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light finish, some well ripe citrus, doughy brown bread, drying berries. Very simple beer. Easy-drinking stuff, but simple. Rune (12587) - TromsÝ, NORWAY - FEB 1, 2013
Half pint, cask at Castle Hotel. Good looking with its deep, golden-brown coloured body. Tiny layer at the top leaving carpeted lacing behind. Firm aroma of leafy hops and mid-sweet malts. Malt-fruity taste profile with resin and caramel. Satisfying bitterness to the finish. Well balanced. A good bitter that fits the season (Manchester, 21.01.2013). Easy to drink. Inoffensive. Slips down easily. Very mild flavour. Great for an easy session.
