Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive natural milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Nothing out of the ordinary with this one. The slightly sweetish chocolate aroma is a bit strange and quickly overpowered by the not unpleasant bitter. The colour was a nice dark brown, and the head quickly dispersed. I liked this, but wouldnt bother with it again especially.

O aroma desta cerveja muito bom por causa do chocolate. A espuma razoavelmente persistente. O sabor um pouco amargo e levemente doce.

Bottle. Pours clear mahogony with a good white head. Aroma is quite striking. Smells strongly of a weak, milky cocoa. The flavour has more of that same cocoa flavour. it feels a bit forced. The malt clashes with the chocolate milk. Theres a brief bitterness on the end. Pretty poor really. I hoped this would be better.

Pours light mahogany into an English pint. Tan head quickly recedes to sicken surface. Sour pit fruit and caramel aromas. Soft with sweet toffee and mild milk chocolate upfront turning to bitter sour fruit in the lasting finish.

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours dark copper with a 3.5 finger foamy/creamy beige head. Foam cuts aroma, but chocolate comes through. Med minus body. Flavor is smooth, silky chocolate. Theres a lot of dark malt with a hint of treacle, but the main thing is the milk chocolate. Nicely balanced. Theres enough hop bitter to fend off the malt, and on balance Id vote for bitter finish. Its really a delightful rendition of a traditional brew.
