Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive natural milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Pours light mahogany into an English pint. Tan head quickly recedes to sicken surface. Sour pit fruit and caramel aromas. Soft with sweet toffee and mild milk chocolate upfront turning to bitter sour fruit in the lasting finish.

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours dark copper with a 3.5 finger foamy/creamy beige head. Foam cuts aroma, but chocolate comes through. Med minus body. Flavor is smooth, silky chocolate. Theres a lot of dark malt with a hint of treacle, but the main thing is the milk chocolate. Nicely balanced. Theres enough hop bitter to fend off the malt, and on balance Id vote for bitter finish. Its really a delightful rendition of a traditional brew.

BlackHaddock (6557) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2012
June 2011: 330ml Brown bottle , best before Sep 2012, poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cu stemmed tulip. Good reddy brown colour, head soon left leaving a tan coloured collar and a few pieces of lacing as the beer level fell. Pleasant chocolate aroma is given off which carries on into the taste, true chocolate flavours throughout make this an interesting blend. Different and well made, good carbonisation and throughly enjoyable. Really for a winters night, but equally as good as a summer nightcap.

Neat bottle. Pours clear deep copper with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is just like the regular Old Tom, but with more cacao. Tastes malty, with a big cacao mid-palate hit. Finishes ovaltiney, with caramel malt and mild hops.

Thomasalias (320) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 29, 2012
0,33l bottle from Beer Bier. Clear, dark reddish amber color with medium off-white head. Interesting, intensive, dry odor with dark chocolate, milk caramel, raisins, some coffee, liqueur and a little whisky. If you wait a couple minutes, the odor and the aroma will be much intensive and delicious. A little bitter aroma with caramel, chocolate, raisins, a little coffee and liqueur. It has an interesting cookie feeling, but the little bitterness make it balanced. Medium bitter-sweet taste. MEdium body with creamy texture and sofr carbonation. Unique, delicious finish with dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla. Very delicious beer with a big amount of flavours and aromas.
