Originally labelled as Chocolate Tom. Label was changed to read Old Tom With Chocolate circa 2011.
Old Tom with chocolate is an indulgent rich combination of Robinsons’ award winning Old Tom and the finest cocoa. It is a superior full bodied strong ale filled with the flavour of ripe malt and velvety smooth chocolate teased together with an inspired touch of Madagascan bourbon vanilla.
Chocolate Tom is a deliciously indulgent addition to the Old Tom range, with a recipe developed by Robinsons and the renowned chocolatier Simon Dunn.
With a distinctive ’natural’ milky sweet chocolate palate balanced by underlying hop and roasted malt characters, Chocolate Tom is a superior, rich and warming speciality beer with a dark mahogany colour.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.
Clear medium amber brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, cheap chocolate like nesquick cacao. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090209]

50 cL bottle, courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours clear and golden orange to light brown with a diminished white head. Mild chocolate and vanilla touch. Mild vanilla and subdued chocolate malty flavoured. Vanilla and powdery chocolate flavoured finish. Not my thing.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a light tan head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of milk chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate as well as lighter notes of roasted malt, leading to a bitter chocolaty finish. Not my chocolate.

[email protected], Brommaplan, Stockholm. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is bigtime chocolate, not really much else. Maybe even a bit artificial chocolate... Flavour is chocolate, some hoppy fruityness, earth and caramel malts. Bigtime smooth chocolate finish... I’m just a sucker for chocolate beers...

bottle at jens... copper brown ... thin white lacing ... soft chocolate .. light alcohol nose ... little fizzy ... again a light chocolate ... seems a lot of raw alcohol ... light toffee malt... im not liking this

Bottled at Sorbon, Stockholm. Clear nut brown, minimal head. Artificial vanilla aroma. Sweetish with clean mouthfeel. The vanilla and chocolate marries so ill with the sweet beer that it reaches Huyghe-like proportions. the most misguided attempt at a chocolate beer since Floris. More or less undrinkable.

29th October 2008. Clear brown beer. Brewed with Madagascan bourbon vanilla and cocoa. Smooth vanilla dark chocolate. Semi dry and with a vanilla chocolate finish. Different. Nice.

Bottle 27,5 cl. Pours an almost clear amber golden with an off-white head. Sweetish and fairly intense aroma of milk chocolate. Medium body, fruity with notes of overripe fruit and plenty of milk chocolate. Still manages to end surprisingly dry and bitter. 310509
