Trooper is a premium British beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.

Admittedly, this is as gimmick-y as it gets. However; Trooper ale is actually a great beer. More of an amber ale than a golden ale. Drinkability is awesome - I just had a bottle, and I could go for another. This beer is every bit as good as Fat Tire (and I love Fat Tire). A bit pricey, as least for we U.S. residents, but I’ve paid more for worse beer....

Second attempt at this, as the first one was way, way past its best and a rating wouldn’t have been fair. Amber pour with a decent off white head, good lacing. Mostly caramel on the nose, a little spice. Taste is big sweet, slightly dark caramel, with a bit of bitterness, finishes almost like a one of those school fete toffees in a patty pan wrapper. A lot better than I was expecting but I set the bar pretty low after the local AC/DC beer...

500 ml canned. Pours amber with good creamy head. Aroma is caramel with malts. Taste is smooth, not particularly complex, a little fruity with vague bitterness. Palate light bodied with short finish;

W aromacie głównie karmel, zapachy Bittera i troszeczkę cytrusowego orzeźwienia. W smaku Typowo po angielsku. Goryczka z chmieli Goldings, też charakterystyczna. Ale głównie na słodach to wszystko polega.

Aromat lekko słodkawy, biszkoptowy W smaku wytrawne, cierpkie, lekko cytrusowe, metaliczna lekka goryczka. Pijalny bitter, zgodny ze stylem, ale to nie mój typ piwa.

Clear light amber The nose is biscuit, caramel, floral and spicy hops. Light to medium body. Bittersweet taste. The balance trends towards the sweet side. Lots of biscuit maltiness. Light floral bitterness. Not great, average beer.

Pours dark amber with a thick white head and roasty aroma. The taste is of malt, biscuit, citrus and caramel with a bitter aftertaste. The palate is medium with mild carbonation. Quite standard stuff overall.

Bottle. Clear light amber pour with moderate off-white head. Average retention. The nose is biscuit, caramel, floral and spicy hops. Light to medium body. Oily texture. Soft carbonation. Bittersweet taste. The balance trends towards the sweet side. Lots of biscuit maltiness. Light floral bitterness. Short finish. OK.

Typowe angielskie ale, dość nudne. W aromacie jakby pieczona skórka chleba, rodzynki.

Nic specjalnego...

11-06-2017; bottle; at home (bought at www.drankgigant.nl, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are nice. It looks like you can expect from this type of beer. The beer has a nice amber colour. The beer is crystal clear. A lot of tiny bubbles can be seen rising towards the top. On top of the beer a nice soft layer of slightly off-white foam is formed. Foam retention is good. The foam seems quite creamy. Nice. The smell of the beer is good. The smell starts of with a lovely malt aroma. There are rather sweet malt aromas, with some touches of caramel and syrup. I also smell a nice fruity sweetness. Besides the sweet malts I also smell some nice hops. The hops contain some nice fruity aromas, like citrus, such as lemon, but also some nice slightly floral aromas. Not bad. The taste is pretty much the same. It also starts of with the nice rather sweet malt flavour, giving also flavours of caramel and syrup. I also taste some sweeter fruits, slightly reminding me of strawberry. I like this. The bitter hops bring good balance to the beer, especially with the citric touch of citrus fruits. The palate of the beer is fine. Medium body, smooth and a rather low carbonation. The finish of the beer is nice. The sweeter malts and the fruity aspects of the hops stay around for a nice and long time. I like this beer. Not bad. I could drink a lot more of this.
