Brewed since 1890, Unicorn is almost as old as the Brewery and is named after the Unicorn pub which was owned by William Robinson from 1838. Our brewery now stands over the inn plot, with our Unicorn proudly positioned on our brewery tower overlooking Stockport.
Unicorn is a magnificent pale tart, thirst quenching ale with superb mouth feel of rich malt, hops and complex aromas of Golding hops, malt and tart fruit. It has a long dry finish with citrus fruit notes.

Fairly solid brew, but nothing special. Yellowy amber colour, quite a thick head. Probably good as a session drink.

Bottle from Bargain Booze, Skewen. BB May 2015. Pretty clear coppery amber, sparkling, foamy off-white head doesn’t last, thick lacing. Aroma is sugary, honey, something a little off or oxidised. Body is medium, soft carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is thin, malty, light floral and resin, a bit watery, soft bitterness. Below average, plain, but not offensive.

Bitter und nussig, dabei jedoch recht dumpf und leicht getreidig. Dennoch einfach trinkbar und erfrischend. Ganz ok halt.

Bottle 500 ml at home, poured into a Guinness glass. ABV 4.3% Pours a dark orange beer, with a clear body, and two fingers of thick slighty off- white head. Good retention, heavy lacing on the glass. Aroma of english hops, ripe fruits, malts, some floral touches. Taste is fruity and malty, english hops with a nice bitterness throughout the drinking experience, even a bit of citrus here. Medium thin body with a soft carbonation and quite dry palate. Overall good bitter, solid.
