24/08/2017- 33cl bottle @ a restaurant in Han-sur-Lesse.
Dark brown colour with dark tanned head. Boozy, dark malts, dark fruits, some chocolate, somehow I never seem to find this one great at whatever occasion I drank it. It Always seems way to alcoholic. It’s far from bad, but nog as great for me as lots of people think, a bit like the Westvleteren 12.

A very strong - probably too strong - dark ale, which embodies all the complex tastes you would expect in this class, but turns out with too much of an alcoholic taste for my gusto.

Dark brown, hazy. Not much of an aroma if you compare to similar dark strong ales, like oerbier Dulle Teve. But the taste is rich with fruit, spices and caramel malt. Excellent end with god balance between sweet and bitter. Hopper8 (228) - Holland, Michigan, USA - AUG 25, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2017 Wow. That's insane. Nothing else tastes quite like this. It's rich in fruit, the alcohol is just enough there. It's crazy crazy good. Omg Craftakt (134) - Hannover, Lower Saxony, GERMANY - AUG 23, 2017

Copenhagen 20/8 2017. 33 cl bottle from Meny. Simple label stating that this is a Trappist Rochefort 10. Nice simplicity. Pours hazy dark dark brown with small off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is intense and contains both a strong sweetness but also a more sourish quality. Figs, brown sugar, plum and overripe berries meet wet cellar. Quite strong carbonation and thick oily palate. Flavor is heavy sweet without becoming cloying. Followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is quite sweet followed by quite strong bitterness. Very nice and well balanced Quadrupel. Truly a sipper which feels like a nice meal.
