The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Pours dark reddish brown to black with thick foamy tan head and lacing. Notes of raisins and vinegar. Taste is on the sweet side, like a dessert liqueuer, akin to treacle tart.

Aroma: dark berries with some alcoholic kick. Taste, exactly what it says - plum, black currant and sultanas. Something herbal too. Man this is so good.... and srtong. : )

Amazing Belgium quad. Notes of plum raisin figs. The taste is both complex and subtle. Very Nuanced. high and alcohol and calories, 11.3 percent and 339 respectively. Sublime. A perfect beer. I have been drinking this beer for sometime now. The best beer I've ever had Bar none. Don't know why I didn't notice it in my first review but rum soaked raisins is definitely present in the finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear dark red, creamy, but low,off-white head, hints of lacing. Aroma fruity, flowers,a little malty, berries, raisins, peppery, grassy, tea. Taste thick, smooth, slightly sweet,a little roasty. Carbonation low, practically none. Aftertaste berries, fruits, flowers, peppery, molasses. A nice, if not a surprising beer.

In the aroma you scent a caramel, fuity and wood. Color is a strong cooper/light brown. Almost doesn't have foam. Has a very strong sweet flavour at the beggining with a caramel and fuity touch. As the time passes you get less sweet and more sour, but not very much. As you finish the drink you get a very strong wood flavour that stays for a long time. Has a rich, medium body and a creamy texture. The carbonation is very soft.

W aromacie karmel, ciemne owoce, szlachetny alkohol. W smaku mocno alkoholowe, czuć ciemne owoce i karmel, minimalna goryczka.

0,33 l bottle. A darkest red brown in the glass. One finger pale beige head. Malty fruity smell. Taste ist malty, sweet, warming alcoholic. Some wood, fruity. Mid alcoholic sharpness in the late aftertaste. Nice.

1.5 year old (BB March 2021) bottle with sediment into an oversized wine glass. $9 in Australia. My first Rochefort 10, second Trappist quad, third dark Belgian, and 100th unique beer! Appearance: Dark brown body. Thick beige head which slowly drops to a film, and eventually a fine bubbly ring. Laces well. Aroma: Strong dark fruits (raisins, prunes, plums), port wine, caramel. Taste: Sweet malty esters, dark fruit, warming booziness, caramel, molasses, slightly toasted malt, a little peppery spice. Wonderful booziness quickly creeps up and takes the beer to a new level. Low bitterness, smooth aftertaste. Far aftertaste is dusty malt and spice. Palate: Fine carbonation but too much of it. I would prefer less carbonation and a slicker body. Overall: Divine. Savouring this for two hours was time well spent. It meet its lofty expectations. I have five more bottles and plan to open one each year. My rating brought it back from #12 to #11 on RB top 50, interesting. 10/5/10/4/19.
