The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

330ml brown bottle. Poured dark brown and cloudy. Tan head lasts forever, smooth and creamy with many fine beads. Aroma is rich and fruity - raisins and a touch of alcohol. Lots of intenese flavours come together here. Fruit, caramel, some spice, dark chocolate and alcohol were all present. Superb choice for beer #100, thanks to OkBeer for providing me with this.

butelka. ciemnybursztyn, klarowne, ładna brudno biała, klejąca piana. w aromacie goździk, suszone owoce, słodowe, alkohol niewyczuwalny. w smaku słodkie, alkoholowe, estrowe, alkohol i nasycenie gryzie w język i gardło. aromat przyjemniejszy niż w st. bernardusie, ale w smaku traci znacznie

Weird that I've never rated this as Rochefort is my second favourite Trappist brewery and I've had it many times over the years. Bottle from LCBO that's been in the cellar for maybe a year. Pours a very dark deep ruby with a light brown head. Huge aromas of plums, raisins, toffee, a definite vinous character. Taste is slick and sweet, with plum, raisin, toffee, maltiness, some lovely umami complexity. Super fantastic for sure.

Bottle. Hazy brown colour with stable head off. Aroma of caramel, plumbs, sweet. Taste of caramelized sugar, alcohol, yeasts, riped plumbs, sweet long finish

11.2floz bottle, BBD: 07.02.2022, $4.50 single, tulip glass. Appears a dark purple-brown in color with a level tan head. The description is apt: there is plum in the aroma, and the full palate has vinous character (currant and raisin) to go along with a gently toasted buttered bread flavor. Excellent.

I bought this bottle two years ago in Amstein, it was a big inside war to let a time these beers in my cellar but I have found the perfect opportunity to drink these two bottles: the birthday of my brother. To say the true, I was a bit disappointing with the rochefort 6 and 8, so I was a bit afraid to try this one, best before 2020 but I could not resist and with my brother, we had a wonderful experience. Firstly, the color is a deep brown body, almost black, thin foam, average carbonation for the style. The taste is just an orgasmus in your mouth with intense aromas of plum, cherry, porto, nuts, malt, few hop, liquorice sensation. The taste in general is well balanced, complex, a great beer, you really don't have the sensation to have a so high degree of alcool. The taste is taking more power and the aromas stay a long time in your mouth like the eternity of the Atlantide, no marketing just ear by ear for a great beer, spiritual and poetic.
