The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Good grief... This beer was enough to make me want to finally sign up for this site if that means anything. As good as sex... Aroma: Very deep, chocolaty, malty heavy smell. A hint of fruitiness but not very much. Appearance: A dark but ever so slightly opaque look... caramel and chocolate look for sure with about 55% light transfer. Taste: One word... WOW. As i said this beer is what made me sign up on this site... i feel i need to tell the whole world! It is a heavy COMPLEX burst of tasty flavors. I cannot describe it; just try it yourself. Redefines a quad for sure. Palate: Easy to drink with very little taste of the potent 11.3% ABV that is in there. It flows and fizzes like it was made specifically for me. Overall: The best beer i have had yet... i will be blown away if i come across another that is better/more enjoyable than this brew. You NEED to try this one for sure.

Bottle. Dark amber, little bit hazy with red sparks and huge, solid, frothy head. Good lacing. Quite strong aromas of raisins, dried fruits little bit red wine and malts. Full body, high carbonation, sweet with slight spicy feeling and light alcohol warming in the aftertaste and some light, hidden bitterness. Smooth, oily mouthfeel, complex in taste and very well balanced.

A strong Belgian but very well balanced. The alcohol is masked completely. Caramel malts on a mild body. Very smooth. Yeast throughout with a sweet finish. Nearly sessionable for a beer of this potency.

Szopeen (460) - POLAND - MAR 10, 2017
