Drank at La Morte Subite.... Served in a wide mouth classic trappiste style glass. Light tan head with lacing on the sides. The aroma is malt with vinous notes and fruity esters and background of caramel and dare I say Cola? Served celler temps good carbonation with good bite. Taste is candy like with some brown sugar coming through (sans mollases) Makes my cheeks pink like a swedish boy at Christmas drinking this one.... Toffee and dark fruit finish that is surprisingly dry at the end. Yeast profile really makes this beer different than other trappiste biers I have had. Also in the middle the beer exhibits a strange character that I can only describe is celery like with a cola note as mentioned before. I like it and it definately better at room temp 65-70

I bought this bottle two years ago in Amstein, it was a big inside war to let a time these beers in my cellar but I have found the perfect opportunity to drink these two bottles: the birthday of my brother. To say the true, I was a bit disappointing with the rochefort 6 and 8, so I was a bit afraid to try this one, best before 2020 but I could not resist and with my brother, we had a wonderful experience. Firstly, the color is a deep brown body, almost black, thin foam, average carbonation for the style. The taste is just an orgasmus in your mouth with intense aromas of plum, cherry, porto, nuts, malt, few hop, liquorice sensation. The taste in general is well balanced, complex, a great beer, you really don't have the sensation to have a so high degree of alcool. The taste is taking more power and the aromas stay a long time in your mouth like the eternity of the Atlantide, no marketing just ear by ear for a great beer, spiritual and poetic.

Flaska delad med Lilja och Vignale, från 2009. Brunmurken med liten beige krona. Ganska murrig arom med kola, dessertvin, övermogna äpplen, choklad, kakao, likörpralin, mörka körsbär och mörk torkad frukt. Ligger nära i smaken.

Bottle from Pezinská pivná pumpa. A lovely Q. It's actually a plum bomb and as I love Slovák plum "brandy" I only rate high.

Aroma is hard to describe. Kind of oxidize wine, a lot of cherries, plums, banana, raisin and some caramel. Taste is very complex, some wine connotation, fruity, caramel. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter in alcoholic type. A bit sourness after swallow. Full body, creamy, medium fizzy carbonation.
