4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I tried 8 and 10 back to back. Nr 10 is definitely better. It got similar taste but its smoother somehow and for some reason it feels less alcoholic despite its high percentage. A truely top notch beer!
Myślę, że w kategorii "quadrupel" idealne. Idealny kolor, piana, niemal idealny smak i aromat.
The aroma has elements of plum and other dark fruits. The bubbly head falls quickly. The body appears brown but has a reddish hue when held up to a light. The dark fruitiness comes through in the taste. It has a bold warming sensation on the palate. Bubbly and has a somewhat dry finish with a hint of sweetness. greatone (6) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - MAR 12, 2018 does not count
Strong! The aroma was very simple. Like Most Trappist, Caramel flavor but Alcohol content present. Great Dark brown tobacco like color. Head at first was about two fingers deep, brownish color. Wish it would have stayed longer, but a thin layer remained for about ten minutes. I would say taste was surprising light. I'm guessing it would have to do with the presence of the Alcohol flavor just ever so slightly drowning out any Fruit flavor that is present. Hits the roof of the mouth very well, nothing too thick and Carbonation was very soft but not flat, once again probably due to the high alcohol content. Of Course on the finish is the amount of Alcohol, Enjoyable but too enticing to drink more to get drunk. This was my second high volume ABV Trappist of the night so.....readers take that into account. ResinousLiquids6 (40) - Kraków, POLAND - MAR 10, 2018

Bottle from la supérette a bières. Comparative tasting with St Bernardus 12 and Westvleteren 12. Dark brown color, off white head. Complex mix of dried fruits, yeast, booze, a bit more complex of than Bernardus, simpler than the Westvleteren, but kind of stand the comparison, only weeker on aftertaste. Very Good

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2018 Ikona belgijskiego piwowarstwa. Kolor ciemno brunatny z delikatną beżowa pianą. W aromacie suszone owoce, mocna herbata. W smaku rozgrzewające alkohol dobrze ukryty. theprof (1520) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2018
Bottle. Pours very dark brown with diminishing off white lacing. Aroma is raisins, dark fruit, roasted dark malts with berry fruits in the mouth. Taste is medium sweet or more with some alcohol warmth. Palate is medium to full bodied creamy texture, soft to average carbonation, and a very long finish. Few people will buy this unaware of its reputation and it's grand but... When beer becomes this special has it lost some of the everyday qualities that is part of its magic? Had this a few months back. Lots of dark fruit in the aroma and flavor. Not usually a fan of the style but this one is very good. xist_ (35) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 4, 2018
Pours a very dark, brownish body with a rich texture and a massive brownish and long lasting head with lots of lacing. Incredibly carbonated. Aromas of dark fruits, roasted malts, caramel, a bit of alcohol, toffee. Where can I begin with the taste? This beer is so complex. There are notes of dark fruits, dark chocolate, caramel toffee, molasses and clove. The dark chocolate comes with some bitterness, but the caramel is a little sweet and it is balanced out. The finish is a bit boozy, but it is very smooth and it goes down incredibly easy. This is probably the best beer I've ever had, it was an absolute treat and I can't wait to have it again. djfreeart (43) - FRANCE - MAR 3, 2018
Couleur brune très foncée, mousse onctueuse, carbonation parfaite. Amertume légère, arrière goût de cacao. Subtile, épicée. Légèrement trop sucrée.
