$6.49 bottle, Rio Hill Wine. Pours hazy amber brown with a large beige head. Aroma is black tea, brown leaves, dried fruit, yeast, gum. Flavor is bubblegum, dried fruit, yeast, black tea. Lots of carbonation - almost wish it was a little softer, but this is good nonetheless. DonGregorio (660) - POLAND - FEB 11, 2018

Taste is medium- sweet and light+ bitter, of dried fruits, cherries, raisins, plums, brown sugar, light caramel, apples, herbs, with notes of spices in the finish. Medium body, average to lively carbonation. Good, tasty, quite drinkable stuff. jonas (8625) - Garching close to the monks, GERMANY - FEB 10, 2018
Bottle. Hazy dark amber, offwhite head. Melanoidin and raisin nose. Medium body, light foamy, dry minerals on the palate. Roast, wood, raisins, caramel/melanoidin, light strawberry, plums towards the finish, herbal hops. Not the biggest fan of the caramel notes, but the rest is complex and pleasant. Pours with no head really. My previous experience with Rochefort is the 10, which I'm familiar with. The color is dirty brown. Aroma is fermented and slightly alcoholic. Has a fine fortified wine feeling to it. Light plums, a bit of salt licorice, mild cognac-like alcoholicity. Some fresh floral notes. Palate is okay, a bit more towards dry. Taste is quite harmonious with the taste, mild plum taste, carbonated bitterness spreads to mouth, aftertaste has marzipan and mixed floral tastes. It's milder than the Rochefort 10. This one is even slightly watery, but it can also be read to mean fresh and mild. It's recognizable as a Rochefort. A fresher and milder version of Rochefort 10 pretty much. Tasty. Aroma is covered under the super fluffy head, but delivers lots of dried fruit, light oranges and quite a lot of red berries. Somewhat vineous. Taste is almost exactly how I remember it, which also proves the consistency with these guys, big toffee notes, figs, Belgian yeast. It has a more red berry/vineous note than I remember. For being the smallest guy in the Trappistes 6, 8, 10 family, it delivers quite well. Slightly thin though, but it's really easy drinking and before you know it - the glass is empty.
