This beer, the oldest of the three Rochefort Trappist beers, has the reddish colour of autumn leaves, a soft body and an earthy, herbal palate (a hint of Darjeeling tea), which develops into a deep fruitiness.

The date code stamped on the label stated L 21 02 12 08:23. I understand that indicates an expiration date of 2012, meaning a bottling date of February 2007. Poured into a large wine glass, the beer is a russet-orange color with a thick beige head. The head drops to a thin layer with moderate lacing. The aroma is muted with notes of caramel, spice and dark fruit. The flavor profile is on the mild side as well. Some dark cherries and bready yeast can be picked out, but theres no particular flavor that stands out. There is a bit of alcohol warmth noted thats more than I expected from the 7.5% ABV. The mouthfeel is smooth with a cider-like tang. The Rochefort 6 was an easy to drink beer that presents a very subtle aroma and flavor profile.

Deep red color with a big yellowish head. Rich dark fruits on the nose and tongue. This beer is big and is so good. The flavor sweetens a bit as it sits in your mouth. Lots of carbonation, but its Belgian Trappist and thats part of the charm. I love this and cant get enough.

Robe ambre, fine mousse crmeuse. Nez sur le malt, la noisette, un cot lact, pointe de caramel. Bouche frache et digeste, belle bulle fine et finale acidule. Une belle bire qui reste lgante malgr son alcool.

330 ml bottle, Bucharest at Bistro GUXT. Nice amber color, alittle hazy, some sediments in the glass. Thin head, no retention, no lacing. Aroma is pleasant: dark bread, honey, caramel, some fruits (dried plums and apricots), some spices (coriander, cloves and nutmeg). Moderate hints of chocolate in the finish. Medium high carbonation, medium body Well balanced taste with hints of bread, fruits, caramel and spices. Well integrated alcohol.one of the best dubbels I tasted.

Amber copper body 2 fingers white head. Smell of red fruits sweet finishing slightly acidic. Taste is hard to define but pleasant, I think the tea description suits pretty well. Medium light body medium high carbonation. Drinking well.

Cool bottle served in a Hoegaarden snifter. Hazy toffee coloured body with an off white head that faded to a skim. Malt loaf aroma. Prunes, dried fruit, demerara and overripe bananas. Soft and gentle in the mouth. Rather lovely.
