COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The lower gravity cousin to Rochefort 10. Nicknamed "Spéciale" (’The Special’), this beer is the most recent production. The Rochefort 8 has a more tawny colour and a more pronounced aroma, with an even richer fruitiness (a slight undertone of fig?) and a little more spiced dryness, like that of a cake, which gives a balanced finish to the final notes.

It’s a toss up over which I prefer, the 10 or the 8, a couple of bottles of 8 makes for a perfect evening in. Pours cloudy and dark with a rich aroma of molasses balanced by a roasted hoppy scent. Really tasty. Moreish i the extreme, Iomly buy two at time as if I bought more I’d just keep knocking them back. A truely great Belgian dark ale.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2017 Oklar brunorange med beige tunn skumkrona. Doftar lite fruktigt, sött och malt. Smaken fyllig, lite söt och besk. Eftersmaken lång, maltig, lite besk med karamell på slutet. Ingen alkoholsmak trots 9,2%.

12-ounce bottle pours hazy brown-ruby with tan head and lacing. Aroma: dried dark fruits, brown sugar. Flavor: malt-forward; figs, dates, plums, nuts, molasses bread. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied. You can’t go wrong with Trappistes Rochefort 6, 8 or 10 -- all world class beers!

Aus der Flasche getrunken (Händlerlieferung). Dunkelbraun mit viel Schaum im Glas. Ein süßlicher Malzteppich überdeckt den Alkohol.

Dark brown pour. Long lasting beige head. Dark fruit aromas and taste. Some figs and booze also in the taste. Strong tasting but not overpowering. Nicely balanced

Another knockout from the brewery, figs, fruits, caramel, bubblegum, but overall very rounded, not tiring or diabetic

Light cherry taste with a long aftertaste however it's a strong beer, but you can't feel it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Off white head stayed on a medium brown slightly carbonated body. Sweet aroma of dark fruits, plum & demerara. Medium bodied. Spritely on the palate, sharper on the back. Fills the mouth. Minimal alcohol presence with dark stone fruits, peach, sour/overripe fruits, malt & sweeter dark sugar backdrop.
