Rated under old beer app. Pours dark brown. Aroma of coffee, which matches the taste. Coffee is nice addition to milkshake stout. Tap at brewery. rumproasts (5356) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 11, 2016
tap at 2016 michigan winter beer festival. Near black with one finger head. Milk chocolate, coffee. Moderate sweetness. Very smooth. Haven’t had a dud from this series yet.

On tap at Rochester Mills. Aroma is lots of coffee, roasted malt and a sweet almost milk-Stout Aroma. Flavor is coffee up front with a pleasant coffee bitterness. Light notes of chocolate intermingled. Mouthfeel is a little weak, a little empty. Not as robust as I’d like. Otherwise a very solid Stout. Elnaer (11) - Michigan, USA - DEC 3, 2014
Very solid stout. On tap at the brewery. Pours dark with a small tan head. Good lacing, but a little less than you would see from a thicker stout. Strong coffee aroma joins a smooth coffee taste on the front end. Chocolate and a sweet malted milk finish. Very good brew...would highly recommend. chucklemation (1681) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - DEC 2, 2014
Pours a dark black, with a very thin tan head. Aroma is coffee and roast. Flavor is similar, with a sweet chocolate growing more prominent. This is apparently a coffee version of the Milkshake Stout, which is my favorite Rochester Mills brew. This is also very good, with a nice, dominant coffee aroma and flavor.

MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee and sweet chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium to heavy chocolate bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I wiil have to travel to this brewer to try more. 2008 MBG Winter Fest: Opaque topped by a rich creamy head with very good lace. The aroma is espresso, charred malt, oats, chocolate and vanilla, oak, prune and plum esters. The taste has twangy fruit and coffee bitterness balanced by a syrupy lush chocolate and caramel malt base. A hint of grassy and smoky notes as well. The mouth feel is smooth and very drinkable. Not too shabby, I would have another.
