The combination of four different malts, along with a low hop level creates a deep dark beer featuring rich, sweet roasted flavors. The addition of lactose (milk sugar) adds complexity, body, and a residual sweetness lending a smooth creamy texture to this full-flavored brew. Once a Seasonal offering in the pub, now prominently featured due to popular demand.

not much in the way of aroma, flavor is lactic and chocolate.has a pleasant creamy mouthfeel.the basics are here for this beer.needs a little improvement on aroma and perhaps a little bitterness in the finish.its average right now but has potential with tweaking.

Tall can, Ann Arbor, MI. Dark cola appearance. Thick frothy head. Hot chocolate powder aroma. Smooth, dark chocolate flavor with prune at the end.

Black as sin. Dark as night. Sweet as honey. If you want to appreciate this beer, I can teach you. But I'd have to charge.

Dark but thin pour. More dark brown than the used oil black of some stouts. Strong coffee aroma, with some vanilla and chocolate too. Sweet on the tongue, rather flat with a sour end. I get the "milkshake" in the taste, but it’s more reminiscent of a malt to me. It’s smooth, but not special.

Dark brown. Thin head, no lacing. Thick. Very roasty. despite the description not very sweet after sitting on the palate.. With a name like milk shake I was wanting a lot more dessert. Thx Arminjewell

Can. Pours coffee brown with a thin tan head. Aroma offers roast malt, chocolate and chocolate tones. Flavor delivers chocolate, roast malt, coffee, and subtle caramel tones. Mouthfeel presents decent fizz and body. Shake it up!

Rated under old beer app. Poured dark brown with some foam. Smooth taste with not too much sweetness. Tap at brewery.

it’s like a nice milkshake only a little beery. but really like a creamy chocolate milkshake with a milk like froth and like evaporated milk. vanilla like cream. I like it. it’s satisfying and not strong as one might surmise. not bad at all.

Aroma: I get dark chocolates, malts, a tangy cranberry zing, a much cleaner, purer powdered milk aroma than, say, a Cassel”s Milk Stout. Appearance: Dark brown, tan super creamy head, with soapy, rainbow micro-bubbles on the rim. Taste: A perfect Mexican “malteada”. Sweet, malty, with the lovely flavour of raw, dark “Royce” chocolates. That ideal Spanish-made Nesquick flavour (NOT UK or Germany or Australia, please). And although it has none of the roasty bitterness of the oatmeal stouts and none of the excessive hops of so many US-made stouts, this lack of bitterness does not make the beer cloying sweet at all. Perhaps that tangy cranberry molecule from the aroma is making the difference. Absolutely gorgeous flavours. Palate: Creamy, velvety. There’s actually a decent body, but at the same time it is super easy to drink. Disappears in no time. Overall: This may not be my favouritest beer ever, but it is an almost perfect sweet stout, so unfairly underrated here.

This brew pours a dark brown color with a bit of mahogany around the edges, and a medium frothy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Chocolate, malt and vanilla aromas. Light-bodied with flavors of fudge, roasted malt, and vanilla coffee. The finish is sweet with a chocolatey aftertaste. Above average overall.
