If you like a dark black very smooth beer you would be fortunate to find this beer and buy it! It is hard to believe a beer can taste so great! heckraiser (1) - - AUG 10, 2012 does not count
For all those people that rank the aroma low, I offer these kind words: "it smells better than a hooker’s chocolate starfish at the end of her shift." Aggie80 (832) - Michigan, USA - MAR 26, 2003
Excellent head and strong lace. Great dark brown color. Smooth and Soft come to mind when drinking this one. Sweet without being cloying and just the right bitterness behind the chocolate flavoring. Very Good! FrankluvsBeer (6) - Livingston, New Jersey, USA - APR 28, 2015 does not count
The taste is a chocolaty caramel. Real easy beer to swallow and settles well in the stomach. I don’t know where the "Milkshake" comes from because it taste nothing like a milkshake. The name is not important because this is a top notch stout. Cantabrian (1170) - Christchurch NZ, now Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 5, 2016
Aroma: I get dark chocolates, malts, a tangy cranberry zing, a much cleaner, purer powdered milk aroma than, say, a Cassel”s Milk Stout.
Appearance: Dark brown, tan super creamy head, with soapy, rainbow micro-bubbles on the rim.
Taste: A perfect Mexican “malteada”. Sweet, malty, with the lovely flavour of raw, dark “Royce” chocolates. That ideal Spanish-made Nesquick flavour (NOT UK or Germany or Australia, please). And although it has none of the roasty bitterness of the oatmeal stouts and none of the excessive hops of so many US-made stouts, this lack of bitterness does not make the beer cloying sweet at all. Perhaps that tangy cranberry molecule from the aroma is making the difference. Absolutely gorgeous flavours.
Palate: Creamy, velvety. There’s actually a decent body, but at the same time it is super easy to drink. Disappears in no time.
Overall: This may not be my favouritest beer ever, but it is an almost perfect sweet stout, so unfairly underrated here.

Pours jet black with a tan head. This is a very good stout. Nose is light coffee, and chocolate. Chocolate and malt sweetness up front with a tasty bitter coffee finish. Easy drinking with a low ABV. It’s a little thinner than an oatmeal or breakfast stout (which is desirable depending on your tastes of the day) and is superior to other milk lactose (cream) stouts that I’ve had (I’ve enjoyed quite a few). Overall, a great stout with a chocolaty sweet taste that is easy to drink and tastes great. An underrated stout IMO. bagalagalaga (161) - Indiana, USA - JAN 15, 2015
Great smooth, creamy, chocolatey stout out of a pint can. Not too sweet, a little coffee flavor but basically no bitterness. Never thought my home town would ever boast a brewery that could make a beer of this caliber! chucklemation (1796) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - AUG 25, 2013
On tap at Rochester Mill’s. Black beer. Has a sweet, creamy flavor and goes down smooth. Probably my favorite at the Mill’s. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - OCT 17, 2013
Not bad at all. Strong chocolate aroma following through in taste. Some roasty notes. Sweetness present but not invasive. Quite creamy milk in flavor as well. Quite thin in mouthfeel, and would benefit from enhancements in this area. Not overly complex, although lingering coffee notes that don't reveal themselves sooner. Very low ABV of 5-ish. B.
