Pour from a 16oz can. Stunning clear amber brew that is almost luminous in the glass; ample but not excessive head and great head retention and lacing. Aroma is weak - maybe its the dense head but I get just a few notes of toasted malt, caramel. Taste is sweet malt up front, very nice nutty notes, has sweet finish slightly offset with some modest hops, nutty notes continue through the end. Overall a very enjoyable and above average Oktoberfest with more character than usual for the style. Dogbrick (14391) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 27, 2016
Pours a slightly hazy reddish-orange color with a medium white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Stringy lacing. Malt, hops and caramel aroma. Medium body with a malty character and notes of earthy hops and caramel in the background. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall. 16 oz can poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, toasted malt and light fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, earthiness and a hint of fruitiness with a smooth finish. JK (6379) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - AUG 25, 2015
Sampled at Great Taste of the Midwest, 2015. color is right, light brown. Standard malt flavor, on the dry side, but the flavor is right and the palate is good. edgallow (4689) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 3, 2014

In a authentic German style 16oz blue and white checkered can- really cool looking. Head doesn’t stay long, but great aroma. Beautiful copper color and clear as day. Malty profile, just the way I like it. Light/Medium body. In the Top 2 Michigan Oktoberfest’s I’ve had this year. Tasty all around. chucklemation (1816) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - SEP 30, 2014
Pours a dark mahogany with no foam head. Aroma is sweet caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is a touch roasty and sweet caramel. Pretty good, though a bit on the sweet side. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Can: Burnt copper & ruby tinted body with good clarity; foamy beige head settles slowly to a lasting film. Aroma of toasty caramel, sweet malt, honey, dough, faint plums, & a hint of cocoa powder. Flavor is super bready & biscuity. Tastes like a loaf of freshly baked bread or biscuit rolls with a touch of caramelized sugar on the crust. Toasty, lightly nutty with a touch of brown sugar & honey-like sweetness creeping in. Light kiss of dark plum or raisin fruitiness hidden in the back-end. Slight bit of earth & maybe even a touch of anise. All in all, a pretty enjoyable Oktoberfest. libertine (434) - rochester hills, Michigan, USA - SEP 11, 2014
i live close by rochester mills and have been to a few of their other breweries. Let me start by saying, i am not impressed. When it comes to this Marzen, they got it completely right. I am a bartender at a local pizza joint and would never have tried this if it wasn’t for me and the general manager checking out an array of different beers we wanted to put on tap. The moment i got my first sniff i absolutely was blown away that Rochester Mills made this beer. The aroma is wonderful. Biscuits, caramel, and nutty. The flavor is sweet, caramel, nutty, warm sweet bread. full bodied. slick mouth feel. I really wish that the mills would brew this year round. It is by far the best product they make.
