Pours a slightly hazy reddish-orange color with a medium white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Stringy lacing. Malt, hops and caramel aroma. Medium body with a malty character and notes of earthy hops and caramel in the background. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled at Great Taste of the Midwest, 2015. color is right, light brown. Standard malt flavor, on the dry side, but the flavor is right and the palate is good.

superspak (6104) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - SEP 7, 2014
16 ounce can into dimpled mug, best before 12/13/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, toffee, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hops flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean in lager flavor as well, no esters present. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good oktoberfest style. Nice robustness and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hops flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Can: Burnt copper & ruby tinted body with good clarity; foamy beige head settles slowly to a lasting film. Aroma of toasty caramel, sweet malt, honey, dough, faint plums, & a hint of cocoa powder. Flavor is super bready & biscuity. Tastes like a loaf of freshly baked bread or biscuit rolls with a touch of caramelized sugar on the crust. Toasty, lightly nutty with a touch of brown sugar & honey-like sweetness creeping in. Light kiss of dark plum or raisin fruitiness hidden in the back-end. Slight bit of earth & maybe even a touch of anise. All in all, a pretty enjoyable Oktoberfest.
