Hazy burn orange, with a rocky tan head.
Aroma is a big dose of caramel followed by subtle hints of grapefruit and pine.
Flavor is very similar to aroma. Caramel is big and sweet up front, but the hops are not far behind. Grapefruit, pine, resin, with a little toast underneath it all.
Finish is long with a nice play between pine and citrus.
Not overly complex, but well balanced, and one I will have again.
Thanks to Redlight for cracking this. Big copper pour. Pungent citrus hop aroma. Taste is big bitterness, stickiness. Lots of citrus notes. Me likey. GodOfThunder (1249) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2010
Bottle, thanks to redlight. Sticky and sweet. Has a little age on it. Not bad. Arayaga2 (2188) - portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 17, 2010
Hazy orange brown with an inch of off-white head. Aroma is super sweet and orangey (like orange soda). Taste is very malty and pithily bitter with fruity English yeast character, and metallic English hop bitterness into the finish. $4.15/22oz egajdzis (6501) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 17, 2010
Amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, citrus fruits caramel malts, and toasted dough. Taste of pine, grapefruit, citrus fruits, resin, and a bitter hop finish with some alcohol as well.

Decent head from a somewhat mild pour. Light carbonation. Lots of hoppy goodness in the aroma with some pine, roasted grains and caramel malts. A hint of grapefruit in there also. Color is a cloudy copper orange. Moderate bitterness in the flavor with some more caramel malts, grapefruit pith, grainy notes and some herbal notes. Kind of dry and pasty. Finishes dry and hoppy with a lingering citrusy bitterness. A decent IIPA. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Bottle; poured a clear-orange amber with a smallish off white creamy head. Aroma of chewy caramel, fruit, earth, citrus and some sweetness. A prett well balanced and tasty version of the style. Good caramel base with some fruit, earth, citrus and sugar. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Overall some good balance and clean tasting flavors. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 27, 2010
Poured an almost clear copper color with a large off-white head. Dirty hop aroma with a sweet caramel malt base. The flavor was sweet and malty with a sweaty hop taste. Long hop flavor. Very long pine bitter finish. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - FEB 5, 2010
Brilliant rust orange color with a lasting viscous beige head-thick lacing- Nice floral, grapefruit hop, sharp caramel aromas. Hoppy spicy bitter grapefruit flavors on a sharp caramel base brew. Very big flavors for a 6.9% IPA. chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2010
On tap at Bukowskis, Cambridge MA, 30 October 2009. Ginger colour. Pretty much as expected - piney and resinous hops throughout. Also citrus/orange zest. Bitter-sweet feel. Not a whole load of malt backing. Maybe a little one dimensional but itís a dimension I can appreciate. Didnít have quite the overall presence of a top rank Double IPA but no denying itís tasty, drinkable stuff. Donít know how this varies from their other Double IPA but my notes for that date back to 2007 and I canít find them right now anyway.
