3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting taste, better lable than pumpkin taste. The spruce taste with spice was pretty interesting
Smells like a fermented pumpkin pie. Color is perfect for a stout nice and dark. Taste is shocking nice deep nutty flavor. Pumpkin sets the sweetness off nicely. Spruce adds nice bitterness at the end. Flavor rushes over your tougue fast and smooth.might be my favorite stout considering I’m not a dark beer drinker. Way to make nice brews every time. Bomber from the brewery. Pours a clear dark brown with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong spruce, roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, strong piney finish. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, well balanced. Very nice. TheHopster (1111) - Netcong, New Jersey, USA - FEB 21, 2015
(Bottle). Black/brown complexion with tan head. Malty toasted flavor. Not as much spruce as expected. Smooth palate.

Not pumpkin version. Dark brown pour some lasting creamy tan head. Aroma smoky, char, lactic caramel. Tastes spruce, dark malt, molasses. Firm bitter finish. Heavy creamy body. Underdogs88 (325) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 12, 2014
Woody hop aroma with notes of roast and hints of spruce. Jet black and muddy with a tan head with average retention. Flavor has notes of nutmeg and roast. Hop bitterness is moderately high. The beer is slightly towards the bitterness side. Mouthfeel medium full with medium carbonation. A slight astringency is noticeable. Overall, it's an ok beer. I would like the spruce tips to come out more in the aroma and taste.

This a fairly mellow stout. The taste is malty, with some toasted grains and a dash of acidic hops. There is a touch of spruce - I got that, but I didn’t really notice the pumpkin - if I had known the brew had some, I would have had my feelers out for it. Good overall. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUN 9, 2014
bottle from the brewery. medium bodied black pour. Pumpkin notes, medium roast, spruce tips add a unique note/flavor. not a big pumpkin beer fan but i guess fans of them would umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - APR 8, 2014
Bottle thanks to WillRunForBeer. Pours very dark brown with medium creamy head that fades to a thin ring. Aroma smells like sweet potatoes with some light caramel and flowers. Tastes like sweet potato, pumpkin, and cooked vegatables. Light caramel and a touch of spruce too (not sure I would’ve picked it out if I wasn’t looking for it). Light malty sweetness with a very light bitterness. Not bad but could use a bigger flavor. More pumpkin, more spices, more spruce. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 31, 2014
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a pitch black colored body that leaves a one finger mocha colored head that gently dies into the body. No carbonation is seen rising.
The smell had the spruce in front with a bit of sweet hops. There isn’t much pumpkin noted no matter how much I let it warm up.
The taste was basically the same.
On the palate, it sat about a medium with nothing harsh on the tongue, nice and smooth with a nice creaminess coming out the more I taste this one.
Overall, this is a nice double stout. Though no pumpkin noted anywhere in the beer, I’m not bothered by that and would still have this one again. jmikolich (1477) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - JAN 10, 2014
So i’m dumb, I went in thinking this would be pumking, its not.. not even close. but its also not very good.. the spruce pumpkin combo is interesting but doesnt meld as well as i would have hoped.
