"INFUSCO" was inspired by a unique yeast's ability to gently weave character and flavor into the beers it ferments. A sweet body balanced with a big alcohol warmth and a touch of hops. Lingering rich flavors add to the complexity. Try aging this one for a year or two at cellar temperatures and compare the flavors that will emerge. For a "SLOW" experience pair this with smoked cheese, baked whole grain crackers, blackened peppercorn rib eye steaks, rich dark chocolate, hazelnut crepes or a fresh dark wrapped maduro cigar.

Bottle. Mild, somewhat sweet aroma. Dark brown body, fluffy light tan head. Flavor is intense. Wood, smokiness, spruce, spicy, a bit of sweetness. Sweetness emerges a little more in the finish, along with a touch of bitterness. An interesting creation. Well done.

Pours dark brown with a thin white head. Smells of dark fruit and licorice. Tastes peppery and peaty with a weird cake like finish.

Bottle thanks to jjpm74. This is a weird one. Nearly black pour with nearly white head. Raisins, port, chocolate, Bali shag tobacco. Somewhat peaty/smoky. Thin on the palate. Bizarre and mostly unpleasant.

Bottle shared by durhambeer. Thanks Bob! Poured dark brown with small fizzy tan head. Nose is drum tobacco, char, alcohol, and a bit of smoke and overlying sweetness. Flavor is more tobacco and sweet unbalanced alcohol. I don’t think I finished all of this one.

Bottle shared by durhambeer - drainpour. Rauch, swag tobacco, and weak-ass tea in the nose, with a trace of menthol just to make it a bit more fucked. Very thin mouthfeel, really horrible: p00tz’s Mom’s ass.

Thanks durhambeer for sharing. Pours a dark brown with a one finger tan head. The nose is smoky, raisiny, sweet, some bacon, alcohol. The flavor has tobacco, spicy esters, malty, raisins. Warming yet thin mouthfeel.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy cola like brown color with a good sized off white head. Nose is malty with some sugar and root beer aromas. Mouthfeel is substantial with a nice heavy feel on the tongue. Flavor is mostly malts with some brown sugar, caramel, molasses and a small hop finish.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 17, 2008
(22oz bottle) Medium beige head atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, anise, some caramel, spearmint, light cherry. Taste is medium sweet, cinnamon, some spearmint, light anise. Light-medium body, light syrup.

22oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a cherry cola color; light tan head with excellent fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of cola, mint, and anise in the aroma; very odd but pleasant cola-driven nose. Medium mouthfeel: cola, spearmint, and brown sugar; pretty well-carbonated; interesting, cola and brown sugar dominated, spiced beer. Odd stuff. Lengthy finish: cola, cloves, and brown sugar; some lingering sweetness.

3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 10, 2008
Dark cola brown colored body with a small tan head. Toothpaste/spearmint/anise/candy sugar nose, very strange smell overall, with a maple/caramel note mixed in as well. Flavor is surprisingly different, the spearmint is very dampened, the body is full, frothy and thick, and it tastes more of chewy bread crust, bran and toasted malt, with a little cola sweetness at the end (and the flavor of rosemary and sweet licorice in the prolonged finish). Weird stuff, but interesting.
