2009 Vintage. Very large head of fine bubbles and very good carbonation. Weak malt aroma with a bit of spice. Color is a deep mahagony brown. Dry and malty flavor with more spices and a bit of smoked grains. Very easy drinking and a very mild alcohol presence. An ok holiday brew. jgb9348 (6511) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 4, 2010

Hazy copper/bronze coloured body with a thinnish tan head, ruby tint and a nice bit of small bubbles coming from the sides of the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, pit fruits, raisins and some major toffee. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malty and toffee taste at first with some nuts, alcohol and a bitter tobacco finish. Aftertaste shows a lot of character, with the malt coming through most, followed by some alcohol and a touch of raisins. Overall, a decent beer - perhaps a bit too nutty and malty, but not a bad beer. Good for a holiday beer - different than most, so that’s very welcome. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 14-March-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 04-April-2010.
Aroma is toffee and brown sugar. Mild and malty. tgncc (3143) - Bellmore, New York, USA - DEC 28, 2009
Appears dark, milky, ruby brown. Head shrinks but some nice lace.
The flavor is lots of malt. Coffee but also oatmeal. Malt dominates. Sweet with a bitter finish. Hint of grapes and dates/raisins.
Gritty feel; a tad oatmealish. Verymuch a sweet, sugary bock. Pretty good.
Nose is sweet, malty, chocolatey, fruity. Very pleasant. The color is a deep red/brown, off-white head. The flavor is chocolate, raisin, plums. Themouthfeel is a little on the thick side of medium. The finish is sweet, with a slight component of hop bitterness, like nobel hops. Decent. I enjoyed this more than other ratebeerians, obviously.

2009 bottle. Pours a reddish brown color with a big foamy egg shell color that stays forever...nose is very sweet and cranberryish with some light toasty malt hints in the background. Palate is smooth and fluffy. Flavors of light nuts and a sweet, tangy berry note as well. Biscuity malts and very refreshing. jcwattsrugger (12549) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 17, 2009
22oz bottle-pours a light tan head with dark amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt, sour fruit. Taste is light/medium malt, sour fruit hops. Towards medium body. Better @cellar temp, so rated it then. Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 10, 2009
BOMBER 2009, pours a dark brune body with a yellow off white head. Light malty body, toasted malt, some light caramel and bitter roasted malt tones. A very mineral and dry coco body with a bitter finish. A nice session ale. I like what the previous review said about olives, i can see where hes going when your first have in in your mouth its bitter and tart like and olive. Now i want olives. Mmm. Good stuff. hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2009
2008 version, thanks to Alldaydrinker. Just couldn’t get into this one. A mess to me. Poured a murky brown, with dirty looking head. Smell was funky, malts and kinda reminded me of olives! yea olives! Taste is bold, carmel, molasses and smokey malts. Kinda ashy and a sour finish. Not so tasty. mcox90 (2145) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 23, 2009
