Red copper lager with a thick moka head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with alcohol gin aroma. Sweet cardboard malt with not much else. Watery and sad. Dec. 2004. Bought at Winooski Bev. Centre.

(22oz bottle, 2007 vintage) Medium off-white head that mostly diminishes, atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some chocolate, faint earthy. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, light chocolate, faint earthy. Light-medium body, light stickiness.

2014 vintage bomber from the brewery. Clear dark red-brown, thin fizzy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of toasted malt, raisin, chocolate. The taste is caramel, toasted malt, nuts, herbal hops, mild spice. Medium bodied, low carbonation.

22oz bottle-pours a light tan head with dark amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt, sour fruit. Taste is light/medium malt, sour fruit hops. Towards medium body. Better @cellar temp, so rated it then.

DocLock (11112) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 23, 2006
2006 version from trade. Pours hazy dark brownish with ruby hints. Aroma is roasty caramel malt, nuts, chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon. Complex palate with the aforementioned flavors, getting spicier as it warms, but maintaining a solid dark roasty malt bill with backup spices.

2008 bottle. Deep brown beer. Thin head. Aroma is quite herbal and woody. Toasty and sweet. A bit of light amber malt. Sweet and a little bit spicy. Herbal and a bit toasty. Very strange and slightly oxidized. Weird brew.

nimbleprop (8826) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 24, 2007
Poured a dark, thick deep brown with a thin white head. I was expecting Christmas-y and Holiday aromas, what I got was the nose of a standard bock, malty and sweet with hints of brown sugar. Sweet and drinkable flavor, malty, sugary, touches of biscuit, clove, and nuts. This was a very standard dunkle, I’m surprised it hasn’t had better ratings. If you can still find them, grab one and see for yourself. My 300th rating!!

Saveur: Aucune saveur. On a l’impression de boire un verre d’eau minérale. Aucun arrière goût. Palette: Corps léger avec une texture très mince. Faible carbonisation. Le pire produit de Rock Art que j’ai gouté à ce jour. (Rating #75)

CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - DEC 1, 2005
Pours a dark, barely transparent mahogany with a thin, light tan head. Has a sweet milk chocolatey grainy bock aroma. Body starts with a subtle earthy sweetness, turning more dry and sticky with a hint of cinnamon spice toward the finish. Nice authenticity and balance. Definitely one of the better Rock Art beers I’ve had.
