Boston location. Decent clear copperish color with white head. Good head rentention with lacing on glass. Full hop aroma. Very flavorfull, but not very bitter. However very drinkable, and you’ll be burping up hops up to a half hour after drinking it. hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2005
On tap at the Milwaukee Location. Poured a medium and see through copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of citrus (oranges) and caramel. For an IPA this one had a very weak hop presence. Very lightly bitter. On the weak side for an IPA. SkyinBrian (430) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 14, 2005
Worlds better than their usual pale ale that this particular rock bottom. i would have liked it to be a little more agressive, but this was still quite good and well balanced. nothing was unique about the hop character, but again, this was definately good. and the quality seems to be improving at this warrenville brewpub. From the Arlingon, VA location, growler courtesy of SeamusNeko. Hazy, dusty orange. Spicy pine, some hops, woody and toasty, a bit sour as well. TheBeerGod (6284) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - JUL 11, 2005
Growler, courtesy of seamusneko. Clouded amber. Rich hop aroma and lots if pine notes. Lighter grapefruit and creamy malts. Taste is nicely hopped and slightly grainy with sweet maltiness, citrus fruits, light piney notes and some hint of maple. Body is bitter with a medium feel and moderate carbonation. Finish is hoppy and citrusy with more sweet malts and light maple. Nice IPA.

From a growler filled at the Arlington, VA location. Hazy orange with a sticky white head. The aroma is fruity citurs, light sweet caramel. Dry bready flavor that is wrapped in a juicy citrus wrapper. Medium dry palate. Pretty nice and drinkable stuff. I could have sworn that I had rated this one as I had last summer at the Rock Bottom in Portland. I seem to remember that the Portland version was much hoppier. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - JUL 10, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2006 Pours a deep clear golden with a white head. Very nice Pacific NW hop aroma. Flavor has the usual hoppy notes of grapefruit, citrus and pine. I found that this brew was lacking in malt character. Bitter finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Good lacing and head retention. Solid stuff.
RERATE- ON TAP AT RB CHICAGO- strong grapefruit rind and cattiness in the nose (cluster hops?) Cloudy unfiltered golden orange with a white head. Flavor has notes of sweet pale malt which acts as a showcase for the grapefruit/citrus assualt. Very bitter hop finish. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Had this in a growler from the King of Prussia Location. Pours a golden amber with a nice white head. Grapefruit and floral aroma with an equal grapefruit taste complimented with a piney IPA taste. Nice, rather smooth IPA. A refreshing yet hoppy summer ale. turbo (1271) - Arizona, USA - JUL 1, 2005
Cloudy orange amber with heavy head and thick lacing.
Nice floral, citrus aroma with a heavy citrus and lemon flavor and nice bitter finish. hezron (614) - Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 30, 2005
The July special just put on tap the day I was visiting. Nice grapefruit and pine hop aroma. Very fresh and bright. Golden with a white head. Flavor is malty with an orange and pine hop taste. Finish is bitter and grassy. Medium body, dry texture. Great after a long day of walking around Chicago in 90 deg. weather. Note: This is called "American Dream IPA." I entered it wrong and sent a correction.
