Very pale gold. Big but fake-looking head (too level!) Smells nice - simcoe, strawberries, cascade, citrus. Flavour...moderate bitterness, more floral citrusy hops. Clean, slightly estery finish.
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2006 On tap @ Rock Bottom Westminster poured a clear copper with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of grapefruit, orange, apricot and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and dry. Flavors of grapefruit, light orange and carmel with a dry lightly bitter finish. Tmoney99 (15135) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 16, 2006
Draft in Cincy. Dark hazy amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Heavy sour citrus spruce aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium balanced bitter sweet flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration. This is standout beer both local and national.argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 7, 2004

Draft at tapping party at RB Cincy. This brew was being promoted more as west coast IPA. Dark amber color with medium white head. Well balnced aroma of hops and malt. Medium body. Good complex flavor with a small bitter finish (Est. IBU 30 TO 35). Good brew.
UPDATED: JUL 13, 2004 (draft at District ChopHouse) Clear amber body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine, some caramel. Creamy, medium body. Yeah the hops are he main attraction, but the malts are what make this a very well-balanced beer. BeerandBlues2 (14027) - Escondido, California, USA - JUL 24, 2005

On tap at the Milwaukee Location. Poured a medium and see through copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of citrus (oranges) and caramel. For an IPA this one had a very weak hop presence. Very lightly bitter. On the weak side for an IPA. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 13, 2004
(Draught) Pours an orangish amber color with a descent sized white head. Smooth, creamy, lightly hopped IPA.

Draft... District Chophouse in D.C.... Clear amber ale with a creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The nose is citrusy and floral with notes of toffee, black pepper and pink grapefruit. Well-balanced with light bitterness. Crisp, citrusy hops with lots of rich malt. Medium-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes tangy, grassy and dry. alexsdad06 (11240) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 5, 2008
Draught @ Rock Bottom. Pours a clear dark golden in color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is light moderately sweet toasted malts and citrus hops with a hint of pine. The flavor is pretty well balanced between toasted malts and the citrus and pine hops. Medium bodied and easy to drink. This could be the best they have right now.
