Draft on tap before RockFest. Pours a nice light hazed bright golden hue, a thick offwhite head that laces very well, cakes. Aromas are a delightful melange of citrusy lemon, grass and weeds, earthy with a light white pepper spice. A bready pilsner malt comes in, a bit stinky, doughy and grainy cereal. Initial is lighter bodied, bready grains and a kiss of chalky bitterness move into florals and spicy hops, bready and cereal grains, a touch of faint hop. Grass and weeds, earthy, a delectable bread in a glass. Touch of lemon rind, spicy bread. Tasty and very drinkable, fresh and true to style. Great work, guys. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 30, 2010
Tap at the brewpub, pours clear yellow with white head. The aroma has nice fresh green and grassy hop notes mild wet grain in the background. Flavors are refreshingly crisp and clean with grassy hop notes mild grainy finish. Just and awesome simple clean pils with great hop flavor, you’d think this would be easy to get in our craft beer boom times. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 14, 2010
Draft at RBC, brewed for the CBC. Pours a classic gold with white head. Good clarity. Nose is spicy and herbal, definitely Hallertauer Mittelfrueh. Clean bready malts come through as well. On taste, rich bodied and fresh. Very clean and balanced, showcasing the hops. Excellent.
