RATINGS: 59   WEIGHTED AVG: 2.27/5   ABV: -
This straw-colored Lager is brewed with Pilsen malt to create an easy drinking beer with a crisp and clean finish. A small portion of Mt. Hood hops lend a subtle spicy hop character to this perfect introduction to handcrafted beer.

Draft… DLD’08… Crystal clear, straw-colored lager with a small, creamy, white, everlasting head. The aroma provides earthy notes of "still-warm" pilsner mash along with subtle notes of spicy hops and whispers of toffee and acetaldehyde. Medium-bodied with crisp carbonation. Moderately sweet with very low bitterness… almost inoffensive except for the acetaldehyde. Certainly bland. Finishes moderately sweet with only a hint of bitterness.

4-23-08 tap

Clear watery pale yellow color with no head and no pigment really. Smell is doughy. Flavor is bland sweet dough. Palate is weak and bubbly.

Pours about clear as water with a hint of yellow and no head. Smell is sweet and sticky corn like malt. Sweet corn malty flavor as well with a hint of balancing hops, but leaning sweet still. Flavorful for a light lager and drinkable.

pours watery gold color, light white head. i sniff grass grain and maybe rice. the flavor has some kind of grassy thing going on, but not delicious or refreshing. the mouth feel was water. this beer doesn’t give me much to work with. mild enough to offend nobody. tasty enough to please nobody. a delicate balance.

Brewed for the people that go to a Rock Bottom and try to order a Bud Light. Still it is well done for the style and it is refreshing and has more flavor than that other macro junk. Light bitterness.

Draught at the brewpub
Light blond color. Very light Lager, but brewed with skills and scoring above the averge in its category, for being balanced, with light but nice aromatic hopping, crispy.

On tap at the Chicago location. You don’t really need to know much about this beer apart from the name pale, clean and inconsequential. Nothing to offend but nothing much to comment on either. Does what it is intended to do, so its difficult to be too harsh.

Draft. Like most brewpubs, this is the style to appease the Bud drinkers. Light blond. Nose is grains, straw, and sweet malts. Taste is pretty much the same but there’s a spot of grassiness in there. Body is light and somewhat fizzy. Ends with more of the same. I’ll pass next time.

Chicago RB. For the style, I found this really good. Had a nice creamy mouthfeel, reminded me of a good cream ale.
