3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 19, 2004 Nitro Draft, 11/19/04. Different brew from last year, tapped last night for RBís "Miracle on State Street" auction, but Iím guessing itís the same recipe. Light amber body, fizzy dissipative head. A good pale ale smell, but somehow had a "dusty" component. Definitely an American Pale Ale hop profile, orangey and piney, toasty malts, and yes, a sort of oatmeal component, creamy and gummy at the same time. This time, the board lists it as havinf 80 IBUís and I believe it.
<hr>Nitro tap, Chicago. 10/3/03 Very interesting combo of styles. The bartender did an expert, Guiness-type two-part pour, which imparted a 2-color head (the head proper and a disappearing layer of fizz beneath). Just sipping the head is both bitter and creamy, and it doesnít just lace, it coats the glass. Orange-amber body with a toasted pale malt taste. No bubbles, but a nice prickly mouthfeel, bubblier than a pub pull, and redolent of bitterness (29 IBU, it says). Great IPA bitterness melded to a creamy oatmeal body. Good effort on Peteís part.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Warrenville. Totally clear and opulent bronze with a lovely, solid, thick 1/8" creamy off-white head. Nice thick lacing wrungs as well. Aroma of coriander, musk and white chocolate. Medium bodied and somewhat watering, and then something strange happens - like white chocolate covered black licorice, akin to Mike & Ikes before the candy casing falls to saliva intervention. Unique, to say the least, and points for the vanilla hints, but thatís as far as Iíll go.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2005 Draught - This poured an orange/gold color with a thick white head that coated the glass as I drank. Itís got a nice mild citric (mainly orange) hopping in the aroma. Itís a nice smooth drink, well balanced with light caramel malt and citric and pine hoppings. Clean crisp finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear, golden amber body with a frothy white head. The aroma is quite hoppy with leans toward the citrus fruit. Orange, a bit of lemon, some caramel and grain and also a bit of pine. The body is quite smooth but not quite as full as I might like. There is a light malt sweetness at the front before the more dominate hops take over. I would have prefered a little more malt ot handle the high IBUs. Good, but not great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught, November 2004: white, rocky cream; clear red amber. Modestly hoppy nose: sticky caramel coated pine. The oatmeal does seem to smooth out the palate, but perhaps mine came from a nitro draught as wellÖI didnít see them pour it? The flavours are good, but in no way unique or complexÖsolid pineyness and a sticky, sappy finish. Not a head turner, but I could see myself drinking several these in a sittingÖ
