FoBAB 11’ Very good English Barley Wine! Pours a murky redish brown, very dark. Nose and taste is of raisin, figs, maybe red wine. Nicely balanced and very enjoyable. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Draft at GABF. This was new to me, wouldn’t be surprised if this was a left over from Pete as it hasn’t been at the brewpub that I’m aware of. Pours a slightly murky deep copper with an offwhite head. The nose is quite nice. subtle sherry oxidation and a nice fruitiness permeate. Some sweet raisin notes in the nose. On tasting, it is sweet yet balanced. Big and nice. Lots of good malt coming through. A really good English Barleywine.
