Sampled at GABF 2009. Black pour. Incredible oak, bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate aroma. Some dark fruit flavors as well as vanilla, chocolate, and bourbon. Glad I did my research or I would have most likely not tried this beer; one of the best beers at the festival. Incredible. alexsdad06 (11242) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 27, 2009
One of the must have guest taps at DLD09. Poured black with a small tan head. The aroma was as advertised: roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, and big bourbon which works well with this beer. The bourbon blended nicely with the roasted malt, chocolate, and dark fruits. Medium-full bodied and very smooth. Sometimes bourbon can overtake the base beer, but that is not the case with this one. I am glad to have had the opportunity to try this excellent beer. BCS still gets the nod by a nose. nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 6, 2009

Source:Guest tap at DLD.
Appearance:Dark black pour with a thin brown head.
Aroma:Huge bourbon notes with roasted malt and coffee.
Flavor:Strong bourbon with a nice compliment of roasted malt and coffee. A slight dark fruit and chocolate presence as well.
Palate:Full body with soft carbonation.
Overall:Excellent brew. Needs a little more warmth from the bourbon, but excellent overall.
I liked this beer...Rich Impy with very Bourbon forward palate............................................ Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 1, 2009
Guest tap at DLD. Tihs poured black as black with a thick tan head. Aroma was lots of bourbon with hints of roasted malts and some coffee as well. Flavor was awesome bourbon flavor, but no warmth from it at all. This is probably the best Bourbon stout ive ever had. Awesome!

DLD baby! Black as night with a brown head. Gotta love the big bourbon aroma in this one with chocoalte and roast. Coffee and dark, dark fruits. Flavor is smooth and full of bourbon. Good chocolate and roated malt. Its not a bourbon county stout...but its DAMN good!! TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 8, 2009
Snifter poured on tap at rock bttom chicago (chicago, il). Poured a pitch black pour with small brownish head that dissipates to a film. Aromas are light soy, bourbon, and some nice sweet and roasted malt undertones. Initial is nicely roasted, subtle yet sustained bourbon notes dance with a nice vanilla and oak body, medium bodied without anything to hold down the drinker. This brew holds an exceptional balance, worthy of its lofty position, with a strong flavor, that isn’t overpowering. A touch of soy, but not enough to overpower or detract. Top quality brew. Sampled at FoBAB 2008. Pours black with some tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit and bourbon. Flavor cocoa, creamy vanilla, marshmallow and bourbon. Very good stuff. MegaMan2OO6 (21) - Los Gatos, California, USA - OCT 25, 2008
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2008 (10.24.08) On draught at Rock Bottom Chicago. Black pour with thin tan head which doesn’t stick around for long. Sweet/roasted malt aroma, with brown sugar, vanilla, and bourbon coming out to play. Medium to full body. Well balanced sweetness and bitterness with plenty of alcohol in the finish. Delicious barrel-aged stout - the best thing Rock Bottom has to offer, but not the best brew in the category. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - SEP 14, 2008
(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, roasted malt, brown sugar, and caramel. Flavor of bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel malt with bitter roastiness in the finish.
