Draft at GABF. Pours an attractive pale copper with a fluffy head. Nose is smoke forward, soft, lightly phenolic with a hint of clove, but otherwise clean. Nice maltiness in balance with the meaty notes. On tasting, quite fresh and crisp, good smoke content and flavorful. More of the meatiness and a good balance of bready malts. Nice beer. Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was thin and tan. Campfire and bacon aromas with a whiff of caramel. Light to medium bodied and a little sweet, particularly at the end. Smoke and light caramel flavors. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 1, 2011
