Draft sample at FoBAB ’12. Pours near black with a small creamy beige head. The aroma is roasted malt, maple syrup, smoky bacon, chocolate, and espresso. The flavor had maple syrup, smoky bacon, chocolate, bourbon with a hint of cherry, espresso with some booze to the finish. I had this early in my evening and thought it was pretty tasty. Draft at Fobab 10. Pours a deep brown/black with a dark tan head. The nose is somewhat smokey with a sweeter wood component. Coffee persists and actually kind of muddies this one up. Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours near black with a dark brown head that dissipates tot the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with a strong espresso note that over powers the backing maple and bacon. This poured a medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of maple, meat and medium roasted malts. Flavor was on the sweet side, brown sugar and maple, with the roast and smoke being subdued. Pretty solid but nothing too great.
