Amber color with a medium head. Slightly fruity aroma, perhaps of apples. The taste is pretty subdued for an IPA. While it’s still hoppy and bitter, it’s not overpowering in the least. A pinch of pine and citrus. Decent malt base. A better than average IPA. Jokes (1453) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 18, 2005
Clear, golden body with a thin, white head leaving full sheets up lace coating the glass. Crisp, piney hops with caramel, grapefruit, pale malt, crusty bread and a bit of spicy yeast. The body is moderate sized making it enjoyable and not too overbearing. The flavor is excellent with the hops taking the forefront but lacking the intense bitterness of some IPA’s. The malt is certainly detectable and is sweet enough to keep the hops in check. Nice piney flavors infused with mild caramel and spread atop a piece of artisanal bread. A solid, tasty IPA with good flavor and without the crazy intensity that seems to be the rage these days.
