on tap at RB Chicago. pours dark red with creamy tan head. nose is malty, caramel, red fruit, and raisin. flavors are caramel, cherry and raisin, mild coffee roast and chocolate. a bit fizzy but this is really tasty. 8% and served in a 20oz stein, yep this could be dangerous. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Very light aroma, malt, dark fruit. Good flavor though. Toffee, lots of malt, dark fruit, and finished a little bit smokey for me. Another solid beer. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2008
hazy brown, not much head, tiny tan bubbles rim glass. aroma of grain, malt, perhaps a hint of dried fruit. toffee is the first noticible flavor, followed by fruit and a touch of chocolate. medium bodied, dry finish. a solid ale. on tap at rb chicago. On tap at the brewpub - This poured a deep chestnut body with a respectable off-white head. It had a rich malty aroma, a slight roasty touch, and dark dried fruits. Those were blended with sweet red cherries, toffee and caramel, and some chocolate powder notes. Very nice brew on a dismal, cold, rainy day.
