FoBAB. Pours murky yellow, little head. Aroma of fruit, acid, wood. Barnyard and citrus in the flavor, tart fruit. Decent beer. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 10, 2010
Sampled at FoBAB 2010 (Chicago, IL). Pours a murky tannish urine hue. Well hazed, small head dies to near nothing, minimal lacing. Aromas are a nice dose of red fruit, vinegar, lactic acid with some barrel. Wet oak, cereal grains, light brett and dusty blanket, barnyard, citrus. Initial tart, red fruit, lactic acid, touch of raspberry, lighter bodied, not much complexity, still a lot of cereal grains below and perhaps a bit young from the barrel. The white wine is usually a flavor I like, gentle and fruity with more gentle tannins, but this beer seems to have needed more time. Dry and mellow finish with decent sourness, decent bretty funk.
