Interesting beer. From the description I didn’t think I would like it much (not a huge coriander fan). Pours reddish brown with a thin head. Good fruit flavor from the plum juice and I didn’t think it was overly spiced. I thought it was a little bit bland, my wife actually really liked it though. Was a decent brew though. Congrats on 2, Pete. BeerBunker (965) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - JUL 5, 2009
On tap at Rock Bottom Chicago. Pours a dark amber with a foamy white head. Aroma is of spice, fruit, yeast, malt, and bread. Taste starts out with lots of spice and lots of fruit. A decent amount of plum, as well as some apple. Backbone of bready, dry malt. There is also a decent amount of sugar to it, but it doesn’t hamper the taste. Lingering taste of plum and spice. Mouthfeel is light, but not watery. Finish is all spicy fruit. I liked it quite a bit. TwoDudes (77) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 22, 2009
I didn’t care for this beer...I can see what they were going for, but too much residual sugar for me................................................ pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 12, 2009
tap at RB Chicago....transparent apple cider brown pour with a thin wispy white head....aroma very akin to a fruity wheat beer with hints of raspberry and plum.... flavor start off as fairly sweet with some red and dark fruit and spices, finishes with a slight tartness. mildly carbonated. just ok. Draft at RBC. pours an attractive clear dark red with a fluffy white head. Nose is a bit tart and clean. Bread notes and fruit come through, though not distinctly plums. On taste, you get more of the stone fruit character with a refreshing splash of acidity and very mild coriander notes. Finish is dry and bready. Pretty damn nice, really.
