Draft to taster at Rock Bottom. Looks light for an APA; a transparent gold with white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of hops with a thin but solid mouthfeel and a light semi-sweet backbone. Okay. Chudwick (3367) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Draft - pours gold with white head and great lacing. Nose is herbal hops. Flavor adds lemon peel. Abrupt bitterness. Faint maltiness for faint sweetness. Quite bitter and tasty. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 16, 2013
Sample on tap at the Rock Bottom Cincinnati. Clear golden yellow color. Minimal white head. Medium body. Smooth, softer carbonation of light-to-moderate strength. Nice light grassy hop, some straw. Light bitter taste. Dry finish. Not much to this, but pretty agreeable overall. jcwattsrugger (12524) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 10, 2011
on tap-pours an off white head with trailing lace and yellow/gold color. Aroma is grapefruit, some light malt. Taste is grapefruit/herbal hops with some bite, secondary light/medium malt. chaz01 (190) - Miamisburg, Ohio, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Had the cask conditioned version of the RB pale ale at the Rock Bottom in Cincinnati. Served in a pint glass with a nice head. Orangey -- citrus in the smell. More orange flavors in the taste -- much more orange flavors than grapefruit. Smooth and creamy, but a but thin with a dry finish. Overall an enjoyable beer.

Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma is of sweet citrus. Mouthfeel is very watery. Taste is hoppy and bitter from start to finish. Good pale ale. phaleslu (10668) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 30, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2010 Draft at the brepub. I ordered a Rocktoberfest and he brought this out instead. No matter; I hadn’t tried this one yet. Hoppy aroma and flavor, with decent malt backbone, citrus, grass, and not much else. Simple and well-balanced. Somewhat bitter, with a malty finish. Not bad. 3/4/10: On cask at the brewpub, and it improves considerably in this format. Hazy dull orange, with a surprisingly thick off-white head. Really nice notes of orange, grass, and hops come through, with the malts taking more of a backseat this time around. Has a cool wet hop mouthfeel to it; much better. Bumping taste and overall ratings up a notch or two each, resulting in 3.2 over 2.9. I can’t imagine I’d have this any way but on cask if given the option; without the option or with something else on cask, I’d go with a different beer altogether. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - SEP 8, 2008
Deep gold almost amber with white head and lace. Nice evergreen aroma with malt backing. Good maltiness and a very nice finishing bitter. Good carbonation on this medium bodied pale ale. Very nice brewpub offering. alexsdad06 (10803) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2008
Draft @ Cincy brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has light citrus, light grassy hop bitterness, and pale malt. The flavor opens with some hoppy bitterness which gives way to a more malty finish. Not bad, but underwhelming. estoppel (1028) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUL 31, 2008
Draft at brewpub. Amber body, medium head, moderate hops in the nose. Fairly hoppy, with a clean malt backbone. Fairly typical example, very drinkable.
