Draft - will be the bière de résistance for this visit. Pours black with light brown head and decent lacing. Nose is straight up coffee, dark coffee not Folgers from the sports cup. Flavor adds roasted if not burnt malts with dark fruit and alcohol. Nutty aftertaste. Bitter like dark chocolate and lightly sweet. Yum. Shame it’s so close to tasting burnt. alexsdad06 (10640) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 23, 2012
Draft at Rock Bottom. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. The aroma is big dark coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts and very inviting. The flavor is much of the same; big dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, strong bitterness (they list this as 85 IBU’s) with a lactose smooth quality that integrates well. No doubt it is a big beer, but surprisingly easy to drink at the same time. Tmoney99 (14843) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Draft sample. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, dark roasted sweet coffee and nutty aroma. Medium to full body and a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy coffee sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting complex beer.

Sample on tap at Cincinnati Brewfest in Fountain Square. Hazy dark brown color. Minimal khaki head, leaves good lace, awesome huge mocha aroma, big roasty coffee, dark chocolate. Strong bitter taste, awesome massive hearty chewy texture, lighter crisp carbonation, lightly dry finish. Light alcohol warmth, but no bite, very taste. Excellent coffee stout. Wow. I’d love to try a whole snifter of this in the future.
