Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #64. Draught sample at the brewpub, August 2008. Deep translucent walnut, some noticeable lasting creamy head and a touch of lace...nose is salted, caramelized pecans, light dry malts, pretty nice if a little on the weak side...chocolaty-caramel malt-dominated body, a bit of roastiness and nutty oiliness...sweet and thick overall, low carbonation, not quite cloying but not far off. Not so bad I guess. northropfrye (3731) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 7, 2013
I actually liked this one a bit better than some of their regulars. A nice fairly pronounced malty sweetness. Pretty good. cards04 (2943) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 7, 2013
Pours a clear brown with nice lacing. Sweet candy aromas. Flavours are sweet and candy like at first followed by a nice roastiness. Thin. DuffMan (10751) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 28, 2011
On tap, as part of a tasting tray enjoyed while patiently waiting out a weather delay in the airport enroute to Chicago.Dark brown, golden highlights. Aroma is brown sugar, hints of dark roast. Lightly roasty palate, sweet brown sugar, chocolate, nutty and smoky nuances. Really quite nice. radioseer (300) - Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2011

Tap at MSP. Clear brown pour. Small white head. Earthy nutty nose with malt. Taste is more of the same. Decent drinkable brew but not spectacular.

Draft sample at MSP.
Poured a clear dark brown color with an average creamy off-white head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted nutty malt and small earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
Good drinkable brew. JoeMcPhee (10129) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 29, 2009
Pint at MSP airport. Dark brown beer. Aroma is fairly light. A bit of light cocoa and some herbal/spicy hoppiness. A little bit of soapiness comes up on the back. A bit of astringency that isn’t all that appealing. Meh... completely uninteresting.
