Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #63. Draught sample at the brewpub, August 2008. Medium clear amber, thin touch of head, little residue leaves a clean glass...weak aroma with touches of caramel and cereal malts, a whiff of smoky or toasty something, but also some vegetal characteristics...and in the body it’s soggy veggies, rather off, a bit of buttery/toffee sweetness...no thanks. ryanfolty (2574) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - MAY 23, 2012
Date: May 23, 2012 Mode: Draft Source: RB Minneapolis Description: Translucent golden orange with some head. Sweet caramel and some light bitterness, not quite as bad as an amber ale but trying real hard. Not sure why they made a big deal about bringing this one back....sometimes the oldies are not the goodies. BVery (10600) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - MAY 23, 2012
Tap at Rock Bottom Minneapolis. Clear light amber pour with a small clingy white head. Slight caramel malt nose. Medium palate. Taste is slight caramel and earth. DuffMan (10451) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 28, 2011

Pours red with white head, aroma of some pine and metallic hops, with some caramel. Taste up front includes pine and some caramel, leading into a slightly bitter finish with a touch of biscuit. Not bad, but not much going on. Tmoney99 (14599) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 6, 2009
Draft sample at MSP.
Poured clear amber color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted malt and floral hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish that was moderate in duration.
This is a solid beer for style. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 29, 2009
Tap at MSP airport. Deep copper coloured beer. Aroma is lightly malty and toasty with a light caramelly sweetness. There is a noticible kiss of spicy hops behind the sweetness. Very clean if a little bit too sweet. It’s a pretty solid brew really, even if it isn’t really my thing. Lubiere (13941) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 15, 2009
A reddish amber lager with a thin white head. A sweet fruity Vienna, a bit funky and burned. In mouth, a rather light crisp malt, light caramel, some boiled veggies, roasted notes. On tap at MSP location, Jan 24 2009. beastiefan2k (4007) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - JAN 21, 2009
Sampler at MSP airport, third beer in the sampler. After the other three, I found this to be the most enjoyable for the moment and then had a shaker pour. It is a clear, more brown then red, color. It has a lightly sticky lacing. Aroma is perfect balance of hops and burnt and woodsy malt behind that, yet almost no residual sweetness, nice and clean. Taste is still hoppy (grassy and sweet hops) with loads of roast malts back there as well. Some toffee in there as well that melds perfectly as well. Comes off as fruit punch with a light caramel sweetness. Still clean and so fun and easy to drink. Came off as a lagered, clean, Irish Ale more so than a Vienna, either way I liked it a lot.
