Clear gold, moderately carbonated, slim white head. Mellow malty aroma with just a touch of hop presence. Smooth malt profile, nicely balanced with a slightly spicy, slightly flowery hop tang. Very smooth and easy to drink - a touch of smoke character (I don’t think smoked malt was used) in the aftertaste is intriguing. badgerben (5251) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JUN 27, 2007
Clear gold color with a thick head. Barely any aroma, but just a bit of grain. Massive raw grain taste and oddly sweet for a pils. Some floral hop on the finish that bitters it up just a bit. Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 13, 2007
Clear, golden hued, slim, sturdy white head.
Clean, sweet nose, crisp, lightly hoppy.
Taste: malt-dominated, tasty, light-bodied, dry finish. Bright flavor, with a little grainy texture, but overall smooth, easy-as you please.
Very likable, very drinkable pils, ....just right for 90 degree weather!

On tap at Rock Bottom Minneapolis before the RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting. Clear golden yellow body with a small white head. Sweet honey and light grass aroma. Sweet caramel flavor with light grassy hops in the end. SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - JUL 9, 2007
Brewpub draft. Clear gold, small white head. Real grainy with some subtle, sweet perfume and some corn and a small hint of noble hops. Decent for a pils. Light body, balanced.
sliffy (2040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 29, 2007
On tap @ the brew pub: Pours a clear gold with a white head. Aroma, yeast, floral and grassy notes. Flavor, pale malts, some slight floral hop notes on the end. So so. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 6, 2007
Sampled at brewpub prior to RBSG’07. Pours a clear, pale golden brew with an average white head with nice lacing. Aroma of light citrus, breakfast cereal, and honey. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied with some grassy hop bitterness. Finish is clean, sweet and crisp. muzzlehatch (4969) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 30, 2016
Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #67. Draught sample at the brewpub, August 2008. Clear bright gold, a slight touch of lasting head, also a hint of lacing...grassy nose offers touches of lemon, some acerbic hoppy notes but rather weak ones...fairly sweet throughout, hops present all the time but muted, you have to search for them...mouthfeel rather soft for the style but not unpleasant. Pretty much the same quality as the Premium Lager which started off my tasting. JK (6230) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - JUN 25, 2007
A very light, golden color pilsner. It does look ok, but not a very impressive head. There is a light hop bite and I do taste Saaz hops. On the dry side. chriso (7583) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2007
On tap (sampler) at the Minneapolis location, June 2007. Mid gold colour. Thin, but complete, white head. Not a lot of aroma - just a touch of grainy malt. Sweetish initial impact on the palate. There’s a modicum of hoppy bitterness in the flavour, combined with a little bready malt. Has rather more backbone than the North Star premium lager sampled just before but doesn’t make a huge impact. Quite pleasant and drinkable.
