This full-bodied, deep mahogany colored brown porter is full of rich malt flavors. The complex mix of semi-sweet chocolate, toffee and coffee flavors is delightfully balanced by subtle notes from the inclusion of Noble hops.

Pours a dark mahogany from a growler with a small tan head that fades quickly enough. Not much lacing. Aromas of toffee, bittersweet chocolate, hint of vanilla. Smooth, creamy Mouthfeel light to medium carbonation give in to flavors of bittersweet chocolate, toffee like the aromas. Very drinkable, albeit abit light in body but doesnt take away from the experience. Solid brew.

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 1, 2012
On tap at Brewpub in Orlands Park. Pours a deep brown color with a light tan head that falls to a thin cap and leaves some sticky lace. Aroma of bakers chocolate, light coffee and roasted malts. Flavor is light chocolate, coffee and vanilla with a heavily roasted malt body carrying the and a touch of hops that help balance things through the finish. Medium bodied with a medium to high carbonation.

Keg donation at our homebrew clubs oktoberfest. Pours a deep brown, lightly translucent. Head is off tan. Nose is cocoa, toast, fresh biscuits and a hint of coconut? On taste, nice level of bitterness. Roasty and clean. Lacks somewhat in body, but overall pretty respectable standard porter.

On tap in Orland. Dark cola like color. Not much head. Very smooth with subtle flavors. Sweet beer with smoky chocolate flavor. More malt than hops.

Very dark with a white ring of head, no lacing. Smokey aroma, nutty, coffee, and light chocolate. Similar flavor, but watery on the palate. Nothing to write home about.

Had this on tap at RBOP a couple of times an surprised I have not rated it. Poured dark brown with small tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, nuts and some coffee. Flavor is of malt and chocolate with some coffee and nuts. Remember it being light on the palate and a little dry. Not one of my favorites from this brewpub.

Pours dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma was of chocolate, coffee, nutty malt, and cinnamon. Taste was malt, coffee, chocolate, and nuts. A slight smokiness resides underneath. Lingering chocolate taste. Body was very light, which made it go down real easy. Very light for a porter, but very drinkable.

This is ok. Pours dark brown. Kind of chocolatey, a bit funky. Some nuts and coffee in the flavor. Kind of watery.

TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 8, 2008
On tap at RB - Orland. One of my favorites of the standard fare. Pours a deep dark brown with a small head that doesnt do to much in the way of sticking around. Aromas are lighter, touches of nutty sweetness, chocolate, and a bit of smokiness. Maybe some coffee. Taste is similar, lighter fare on the side of light-med bodied, surprising, easily drinkable, a little watery. A decent darker brew and for 2 dollars a piece on Tuesdays, I can be a believer. Cheers!

brown color, fluffy tan head, nice lacing. the aroma is leathery air. there? a sort of coffee bitterness going on, maybe a hint of chocolate, but nothing much else. medium bodied with creamy finish. the more i drank it the better i liked it.
