Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a bright red-caramel color with a medium sized foamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweetish with notes of ripe fruits and faint bread. The flavor was tart an tangy with notes of toffee, nut, sour caramel, candied fruits and bread. The finish was long, tangy caramel, nut and fruit. Medium body. Solid. LinusStick (3510) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 27, 2011
On tap at Bocktown. Not sure it this was Pittsburgh made or not, but because that is the closest Rock Bottom, I’m assuming it is. Aroma was good. Hints of caramel, grass and hops. Pour was a nice medium red with a one finger off white head. Taste was very hoppy and delicious, if not a little subdued. A little caramel in the front which is taken over by a bitter, grassy hoppiness. Left the mouth bitter and dry. Would love to have more of this.Decent carbonation.
