This poured a murky dark red to brown color with a tiny biege head. Aroma was of light dark fruits, light garbage, and some stale green hops. Flavor was a mix between grape sweetness, and astringent and stale hops. A drinkable but not great barleywine. FROTHINGSLOSH (7670) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a darkish nut brown with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that left decent lacing. The aroma was bitter and a bit rough with notes of caramel, vague fruity hops and pine. The flavor was bitter and rough with notes of pine, floral hops, faint caramel and a burnt presence underneath. Long dryish and rough pine and floral hop finish. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.
